The May 5 episode of WWE NXT is shaping up to be a great show as the company is building towards their Premium Live Event, Battleground. So, the company has booked solid matches to keep fans engaged throughout the night. Tonight’s episode of NXT has a ton of action in store for fans. With the likes of Ricky Saints and more on the show, it’s definitely something fans shouldn’t miss. WWE NXT will air live from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, starting at 8 PM ET.
Mixed tag team action takes center stage as Lola Vice teams up with Mr. Iguana to face Izzi Dame and Niko Vance of The Culling. Vice has had a target on her back ever since capturing the NXT Women’s Championship, and Dame has made it clear she wants next. So we’ll have to see who will win this match in the end. Zaria is set to make an appearance on this week’s episode of NXT. After beating Sol Ruca in a solid last woman standing match, it remains to be seen what she will have to say this week. Jaida Parker will be duking it out with Kali Armstrong in singles competition. Finally, Jasper Troy will square off against Jackson Drake.
Last week on NXT, Shawn Michaels and Robert Stone discussed the state of NXT amid all these stars moving on. Now there is a lot more space for these new and upcoming stars to make their mark. It took little time for that message to spread, as last week’s NXT quickly became flooded with new talent looking to impress. We saw wrestlers from LFG and Evolve come out and show that they want to be in NXT. People such as Tristan Angels, Kam Hendrix, Tate Wilder, and a major NXT signee, NJPW’s EVIL. I’m sure that is only the beginning. We are entering a new time in NXT, and it is going to be an exciting one.
Izzi Dame is one of the many women looking to get a championship match against Lola Vice. For weeks she has been using mind games with The Culling to gain the upper hand over Vice, but last week was different. Vice had backup of her own this time, in her tag partner, Mr. Iguana. None of these new stars have been confirmed for next week’s episode yet, but it is likely that they will be making appearances. Kali Armstrong, who is newer to NXT, will be competing next week after confronting Jaida Parker in the women’s locker room. Armstrong was the Evolve Women’s Champion and is clearly looking for gold in NXT. She’s going to have to go through Jaida Parker first.
