The June 19 episode of Friday Night SmackDown will build towards the Night of Champions Premium Live Event. That’s exactly why WWE has put together a solid lineup to keep fans entertained from start to finish. Tonight’s WWE SmackDown promises to deliver high drama and storylines that will keep fans on the edge of their seats. WWE SmackDown will air from the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri, starting at 8 PM ET.
The Undisputed WWE Championship will once again be up for grabs when Cody Rhodes defends against Gunther in a rematch. Gunther selected Sami Zayn as the special guest referee after making it clear that he no longer trusts WWE officials following the controversial finish at Clash in Italy. So we’ll have to see who will walk out as the champion once and for all. The 2026 Queen of the Ring tournament continues as Charlotte Flair faces Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan for a place in the finals. IYO SKY already secured her spot in the championship match earlier this week on Raw by defeating Raquel Rodriguez, so the winner on SmackDown will meet her in the tournament final. It remains to be seen who will advance to the finals once and for all.
The second King of the Ring semifinal also takes place Friday night as Jey Uso squares off against Je’Von Evans. Oba Femi punched his ticket to the finals earlier this week after defeating Dominik Mysterio. So, fans are waiting to see who will win in the end. Carmelo Hayes faces Ricky Saints in a #1 Contenders match for the WWE United States Championship. Finally, R-Truth and Damian Priest put their WWE Tag Team Championships on the line against The MFT’s Tama Tonga and Talla Tonga. Unfortunately for her, she’s going up against a “living legend” in the form of Charlotte Flair. The “Queen” has been working her way back up since returning last year at the Royal Rumble. It’s been four long years for Flair since she was WWE Women’s Champion, and now, she’s only a few steps away from earning a shot and reclaiming her throne.
